Montana Women Vote
Montana Women Vote (MWV) is a coalition of nonprofit women’s organizations working statewide to educate and mobilize low-income women and their allies to participate in the democratic process. Over the past several election cycles, Montana Women Vote has registered over 12,500 new voters, most of them low-income women, and achieved a 77% turnout rate. MWV has distributed voter guides informing voters about candidates’ positions and ballot initiatives that affect low-income women to over 30,000 Montanans. Montana Women Vote also develops comprehensive legislative policy agendas and carries the energy of this engaged voting bloc into the state legislature to advance policies supporting women and families in the areas of economic security, reproductive health care, domestic violence and sexual assault, health care, human rights, and environmental health.

Forward Montana – Building Big Power in Big Sky Country
An organization that was student-conceived and youth-powered, Forward Montana has a successful track record of engaging young Montanans to build political power: “We believe if more young people vote and advocate civically for public policies that reflect their values, a more supportive climate will be created to advance policies that better their lives and the lives of all Montanans. This change will happen faster if more young Montanans have the leadership skills and training to be effective civic advocates.”

Montana ACLU – American Civil Liberties Union of Montana
The ACLU is our nation’s guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country. Since its inception 40 years ago, the ACLU of Montana has been working vigilantly on behalf of all Montanans to defend, preserve, and advance civil liberties. The ACLU of Montana’s priority issues include reforming the criminal justice system, protecting and preserving privacy rights, defending religious expression and belief, fighting for racial justice and immigrants’ rights, and protecting, defending, and advancing First Amendment rights.

Montana Conservation Voters
Montana Conservation Voters is a statewide membership organization serving as the political voice of Montana’s conservation and environmental community. MCV shines a spotlight on the votes and actions of elected officials, from the courthouse to Congress, whose actions affect clean air and water, open spaces, wildlife, and public health. MCV works for responsible stewardship of Montana’s incredible natural assets by providing voter participation services to over 35,000 conservationists. Through its affiliated political action committee, MCV supports candidates who stand up for conservation principles. Montana Conservation Voters Education Fund (MCVEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to involving citizens in the democratic process. Priority conservation issues include protecting public lands and water access, renewable energy, and clean air and water.

Carol’s List— Montana Women Helping Montana Women Win.
Carol’s List recruits, trains, elects, and otherwise supports progressive pro-choice Democratic women to elected office in Montana, to increase women’s power in the political arena.If our democracy is to be truly representative, at least 50 percent of our elected leaders should be women. With targeted recruitment, excellent support and training, and help with fundraising, women leaders will gain equal representation in the Montana Legislature. Studies show that more progressive women in office leads to better policy outcomes for all of us.
